This is a blog of Mark Smith, Ph.D.

What’s with the website name?     My two favorite activities, when I’m not working and spending time with my family, are surfing and hacking electronics (i.e. circuits). Thus the website name became www.surfncircuits.com.

What do I do?  I work for Microchip Corporation, a semiconductor technology company,  as a senior product line marketing manager. This job includes understanding markets and identifying the new technology and semiconductor products customers will find value in. Then I work with the team to develop those products . The products I manage include inductive position sensors and high reliability mixed signal devices. I also have a strong background in power management products. I expect some of my blogs may introduce some of the technology I have helped develop.

What are my priorities?  Outside of work, my priories include being a husband, father, and elder at my church.  When at home, I like to spend time in my lab tinkering to create and help others create great applications. In addition to surfing and circuits, my other hobbies include skiing black diamond runs, hiking the sierra mountains, and golfing with my parents.
